You remember it vividly

The cool air, the leaves crackling, songbirds awakening, buddies in the blind, your kid’s first kill. If you’re thinking about having memories captured forever, check out some of the memories we’ve captured in the gallery. Let us keep your memories in sight.

About

Most of my favorite hunting stories include those early morning boat rides in the dark, breaking ice to get to that special place or walking in complete silence to the roosting of an ol’ longbeard. Those moments, along with sitting in the blind with buddies, the companionship of a dog in the blind or my son by my side has driven my passion to preserve those memories.Strutting Seas Taxidermy Studio was inspired by nature, the passion for the outdoors, Waterfowl banquets, NWTF calling competitions and avid hunting and fishing. My educational background of the arts and this insane love of wildlife led me to making wing bone turkey calls and eventually practicing with turkey tail fan mounts and whitetail skull mounting. Since training under a Carl Akeley Best in World Champion waterfowl taxidermist, Strutting Seas Taxidermy Studio was born. This studio provides taxidermy services for all waterfowl species, upland game birds and wild turkeys. You will notice my attention to detail as I capture the attitude of the bird, create the perfect habitat and partner with you to recreate that memory you had of your trophy that your friends and family can enjoy also. It is important that I provide the highest quality mount to my clients, as you are the most important partner in this business.I do this because it is a passion. I love God, wildlife, family, friends and the Great Outdoors. There is nothing else I’d rather do. I am blessed to do this and get paid for doing it. I’m committed to helping keep your memories alive. Cheers!–Rocky

Memory Worthy Birds

The quality and mount ability of each bird is different, and client’s questions are very important to us. Please contact us with concerns you may have. Some major issues may inhibit a certain pose or direction, but the client will be contacted once the mount is to be started on.

Tips to properly care for your bird after the harvest:

  • Birds may have broken wings

  • Pellet holes are expected, most can be hidden

  • Mud and blood soiled birds can be washed and cleaned but cleaning the birds before freezing greatly saves the color fastness of your bird, especially in lighter color areas.

  • Keep your bird as cool and out of direct sunlight as much as possible after harvest

  • Ensure the bird is dry and fold the wings into their natural position and lay the head backwards onto the back of the bird and place it into an airtight plastic bag and into the freezer as soon as possible.

  • Frozen birds can be shipped if not local in a sturdy box with a few pieces of insulation or insulation board and a few ice packs, shipped UPS next day or second day depending on distance from the shop.

are not local, simple shipping arrangements can be made to ship your trophy into the shop. Most
finished trophies can be picked up or delivered to a meeting location.

Habitat

Habitat and natural surroundings can vary a great deal. Your basic mount will be on a simple limb, log, plaque, etc. If you are considering scenery habitat, these can be as simple or extravagant as you wish as these prices are subject to change and once we have a design idea, a quote can be offered. Looking through our gallery of previous mounts or searching online are exceptionally good resources for ice, snow, waves, splashes, ripples, marsh, mud and rock/limbs and logs are all options to be added to your trophy mount.
